My name is Amy Rosslind, better known as Amz.

I recently turned the big 2 0 and loving every minute of it! I have been dancing professionally for about 5 years now and I train everyday - including Sundays! I love what I do and I am extremely passionate about the arts. I have recently started a company, Count of Eight Entertainment, which I co-own with my beautiful older sister, Tracy-Lee Rosslind. It is only 6 months old now, but things are going really well, so I’m very happy about that!

I am on holiday at the moment! But I study full time at the Waterfront Theatre School in Cape Town, where I will return to early next year. My life is extremely hectic and sometimes it can get a little daunting, but the passion I have for what I do, gets me out of bed every morning, ready to take on whatever life is going to throw at me!

Pleased to meet you

These past few years I have struggled to accept that when people see me they see “Marsha, the hockey player” and not “Marsha, the person”. But I got thinking about what defines me and it all makes sense…

So who am I?

I am extremely passionate about sport, especially hockey. As a youngster I was always surrounded by sport; my mum coached hockey and my brother is still very passionate about soccer. Yes, I do love girly things, fashion and make-up, but that does not mean that I can’t love sport.

Sport keeps me fit and healthy and I feel less guilty when I have a real chocolate craving. It has helped me meet so many people, both guys and girls, and it has given me the opportunity to travel. (And in the corporate world it’s a great ice-breaker!) My sporting career has taught me how to deal with conflicts in a team, time management and how to focus and get or stay motivated.

Although I have achieved most of the goals that I set as I a youngster, I find myself continuously setting new goals, for instance, I want to attend another Hockey World Cup and Commonwealth Games.

Yes, there is more to me than just hockey or sport; however, it does help to define me as a person. Instead of getting very frustrated about being known as “Marsha, the hockey player”, I am proud to say: “that’s me… the hockey player”. I have accepted that there is more to me, and that it will take time for other people to know that too.

Cardio circuit on Monday, Step on  Wednesday, functional training on Friday, and a game of one on one at the courts with your best friend on Saturday…and the Zoom Trainer Essential is with you every step of the way … now that’s versatility.  The traction grip pattern is ideal for multi-directional activities like weights or dynamic circuit training.  Flex grooves on the forefoot allow the toe to bend and flex – ideal for routines that have you up on the balls of your feet, or when warming up on the treadmill.

The design aesthetic can be mistaken for pure fashion, but Essential serves a vital purpose: the midfoot bands integrate with the lacing system for improved secure fit and lock down of the arch area, while the internal forefoot strap are designed for support during multi-directional movements like cardio classes.  With a non-marking sole it’s great for gyms or classes on wooden floors. Now available in multiple colours to suit your versatile style.
